MJ Witt writes Post-Apocalyptic and Action-Thriller Fiction with Raventhorne Books, in the Puget Sound of Washington State.

About the Author
MJ Witt was born and raised in the rugged Black Hills of South Dakota, where a deep respect for the land, self-reliance, and hard work shaped his outlook from an early age. Over the years, he has pursued a wide range of professions that reflect his appetite for challenge and adventure, including wilderness outfitter, horse trainer, SCUBA diving instructor, casino operations in historic Deadwood, and dolphin trainer for the U.S. Navy.
A lifelong reader, MJ’s transition into writing was a natural progression. Influenced by authors such as Robert A. Heinlein and Louis L’Amour, he writes story-driven fiction grounded in realism, resilience, and moral complexity. Raised in rural America, where preparedness was a practical way of life rather than a trend, he developed firsthand knowledge of wilderness living, horsemanship, and self-sufficiency. Those foundations inform his storytelling, lending authenticity and detail to his work.
MJ lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and child, where they manage a small farm and care for horses and other animals. When not writing, he continues to travel, explore, and pursue new experiences that inspire future stories.

The first novel in the new “Shattered Remains” Series
VASHON ISLAND RISES

The wait is over. VASHON ISLAND RISES is here.
This powerful new novel launches “Shattered Remains,” the highly anticipated sequel series to the “In the October Fall World” saga.
Set exactly two years after the EMP strike that brought the United States to its knees, VASHON ISLAND RISES begins a bold new chapter in this post-apocalyptic world. Survival was only the beginning.
In this second-era series, the October Fall authors you know and love turn their focus beyond mere endurance. Now comes the harder task: Rebuilding. Reuniting. Reforging a nation from the shattered remains of the old world.
But hope does not rise unchallenged.
Resources are scarce. Critical skills and knowledge were lost with those who did not survive. And in the chaos, there are always those who seek power—those willing to exploit fear, crush opposition, and rule over the desperate.
A new light is breaking across the horizon. Yet darkness presses in from every side.
It will take courage. Resilience. Unity… and the will to rise.
